Term four is a very exciting term as we start and pull everything together from throughout 2009 and make plans for a successful 2010.
On Thursday 29th October we will be hosting a Prep Open Day from 9.00am – 10.30am.
This is a very exciting morning for parents and all new Prep students as it gives the children the chance to become familiar with the new Prep environment that they will enter into in the new year. Throughout the morning the children will have the opportunity to play, learn and interact with one another. Our Prep staff from 2009 will be available to meet with you and discuss any questions you may have.
This is a time for those people who have not yet enrolled to ensure that all necessary paper work is completed. If the school has not sighted your child’s birth certificate, we would ask that you bring it along with you. No enrolment will be accepted without proof of date of birth. (The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is encouraging parents to apply for birth certificates now to avoid the new school year rush. To apply for a birth certificate you can download an application form from www.justice.qld.gov.au/bdm.
If you wish to purchase uniforms now, you may. These are available from the Uniform Shop (at the Tuckshop) which is open between 9:30am and 1:30pm every day except for Tuesdays. The Uniform Shop will be available on the morning of the Open Day if you would like to attend to these at this time.
Because of the nature of the morning and the fact that the open morning is mostly about the children, we will also be conducting a Prep Information Evening on Thursday 19th November at 6.00pm – 7.00pm (Parents only). We will try to give as much information as possible at both sessions, however the Information Evening is a good time where we can provide information and you can ask questions in a forum designed specifically for adults.
We welcome both new and existing families to both of these events and strongly encourage you to come along even if you have already been through the prep experience with other children
