World Teachers’ Day: On Friday 31 October we celebrate World Teachers’ Day. I would like to thank all of our teaching staff for the fantastic job that they do each day providing our students with their quality learning programs as well as the continual support and encouragement they give to our students. Teachers really do make a difference to the lives of our children. Please take the time this week to thank your child/children’s teachers for the wonderful job that they do each day. Happy World Teachers’ Day!
Senior Girls Netball: Congratulations to our Year 7 students who competed in the Firebirds Primary Schools Cup over the weekend. Our team played extremely well winning nine consecutive games before being defeated in the quarter final in a very competitive game. Thank you to Mr Doherty and Mr Grummitt who coached and supported the girls throughout the weekend. I would also like to thank all of the parents who assisted in many different ways and supported our girls during the course of the weekend.
Walkathon: This Friday afternoon all of our students will be participating in a Walkathon to raise money for the P&C association. The walk that the students will be completing will be in shaded areas of the school. Children are asked to return their sponsorship forms on Friday. Please ensure that your child wears appropriate footwear for the walk.
Prep Open Day: On Thursday 29 October from 9:00 to 10:30am Kuluin will be conducting our Prep Open day. All parents and community members with students who are the appropriate age for Prep in 2010 (children born from July 1st 2004 to June 30th 2005) are welcome to attend our Open day to find out all about the wonderful Prep program that our school offers.
Class Preferences 2010: Parents will be receiving a class preference list for 2010 this week. As you may be aware, it is normal procedure at this time of the year for us to be considering class arrangements for the 2010 school year. We are seeking information from families to ascertain if students are returning next year and to give some basic information about our class allocation procedures. Please ensure that any information you would like us to take into consideration when placing students into classes is submitted by November 6th 2009.
