Well done to the year 7 girls playing rugby. If any year 6 girls wish to play please see Mr Doherty. There are 4 weeks left and they play on Wednesday afternoon at the Maroochydore State High School Oval. Training will be held at school on Monday mornings at 8:15am.
Good luck to the Kuluin team that will be playing in the Queensland Firebird’s Netball Cup this weekend. There are 56 teams in this competition and it will be held at Fisherman's Road Complex on Saturday and Sunday so if anyone would like to come and support the team please come along to the event.
Year 5-7 students have been doing field hockey in P.E. over the last 3 weeks and have really enjoyed the experience. Greg Richards from Queensland Hockey and Sunshine Coast Hockey has been working with the children and he has informed the students that a social season of hockey is being played on Friday nights at Ballinger Park. The venue is a synthetic grass and it is a great surface to play hockey on. The cost is $5.00 each Friday and if you want more details see the P.E. notice board near the tuckshop. Swimming commences on Wednesday October 28 for a six week block for Year 1-3 classes. Please ensure all forms and monies are paid before the commencement of this activity. The students really improve and gain confidence in the pool during this time.
Year 7 will commence surf education activities on Friday November 6 for a five week block. Year 6 classes will commence a 4 week block from Thursday November 12. Both groups will be learning to surf with the Maroochy Surf School and we will have lifeguards instructing the students in these units of work and to learn about beach safety for the coming summer. All permission forms should be returned to the class teacher and all money needs to be paid to the office by the commencement of these activities.
