Congratulations to the Kuluin School Netball team that participated in the Queensland Firebird’s Cup over the weekend. There were 56 teams in the competition and the team won 13 consecutive games to be the top team in their division. All the students worked well and played hard netball and were great ambassadors for their school and for Education Queensland being the top State School to make the final eight. In windy conditions the team lost 9-5 to a tall Emmanuel team in the quarter final. The team consisted of Danica B, Larissa W, Jayda G, Tara B, Emily R, Jessee S, Kelsee S, Skye H, Sarah B and Amber G.
I would like to thank Helen Sills for organising the uniforms and to Jo Burgess who scored for every game. Thanks to all the parents who supported the team and enjoyed the competition. Thanks to Kodi S who was our volunteer umpire and Mr Grummitt who assisted as motivator, team photographer and personal trainer to the girls. Thanks to all the supporters who came down to Fisherman’s Road to support the team during the two days of competition. Thanks to Netball Queensland and the Sunshine Coast Netball Association for hosting the event.
