A Welcome to the Resource Centre PDF Print E-mail

Firstly a big welcome to all our new Kuluin families and a welcome back to all our Kuluin students. I hope you are all excited about a new year of learning challenges. I am also pleased to be back at school after my exciting teaching experience in the amazing city of Shanghai, China.

We should be ready for borrowing and lessons week 2 so read on for a few reminders of our library policy.

Theatre Restaurant 2008 PDF Print E-mail
To all those interested in being involved in the Theatre Restaurant for 2008 a meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th February in the Staff room at 7.00pm. Put this date in your diary now!

For those who are new to the school and you haven’t heard about our Theatre Restaurant - well it has been running for about 5 years now. Parents and Staff & Friends of Kuluin School put on 3 performances over 2 weekends. It is a show for Adults and we usually have a 3 course meal as well a live band.. All of this is organised by volunteers. Acting, singing dancing, music, stage production, props, costumes, food, waitresses etc.

So if you think you might like to get involved in one of these areas come along to the meeting or contact Pauline Belsar on 54773727 if you need any further information.

Volunteers PDF Print E-mail
At the start of the New Year we find our volunteer helpers a little scarce. Some families have moved on, others have children beginning High School and our wonderful volunteer mums need to be replaced to keep the Tuckshop running efficiently. If you are able to give an hour, a morning or a day then please consider assisting in our Tuckshop. THE TUCKSHOP NEEDS YOU – if you are able to spare any time at all, it is deeply appreciated by all who use the Tuckshop.

Volunteering in the Tuckshop is easy work, making sandwiches, hotdogs, having a laugh and meeting new friends. Your children will love to see their Mum or Dad in the Tuckshop! If you are able to assist just pop in for a chat and a tour of our new , brighter and bigger premises. We have just had an upgrade of our Tuckshop facilities.

Insurance Cover for HPE PDF Print E-mail

Physical activity and physical education, particularly contact sports, carry inherent risks of injury.

Parents are advised that the Department of Education Training and the Arts does not have Personal Accident Insurance cover for students.

Education Queensland has public liability cover for all approved school activities and provides compensation for students injured at school only when the Department is negligent. If this is not the case, then all costs associated with the injury are the responsibility of the parent or caregiver.

It is a personal decision for parents as to the type and level of private insurance they arrange to cover students for any accidental injury that may occur.
