Sports News 24/6 PDF Print E-mail
Congratulations to all the children that represented Kuluin over the last few weeks.

We had 40 athletes attend the Coastal District Athletics event at the Sunshine Coast University. All the children competed well and many children made the finals. A special mention to Maddi H who won the 100m, 200m and 4th in the long jump. Also Nate D won the high jump and made the 100m and 200m finals. Alex J came 2nd in the long jump. These children will compete at the regional event. Many children achieved personal bests. As a school we finished third in the A schools and fourth overall. Thanks to all the staff that coached and managed the children and to Ms. Tate who assisted at the ball games and the athletics. Thanks to all the parents who supported the children on these days.

Year Two Reports PDF Print E-mail
The Year Two children will receive their reports after the school holidays. They will bring two reports home - their Class Report Card and the Diagnostic Net Report Card. The Diagnostic Net will be moderated during the Pupil Free Day on July 14.

This moderation process is conducted by our class teachers under the leadership and expertise of Janelle Neighbour, our Key Teacher. This moderation process ensures that there is consistency of phases and ratings across our lower school with regards to both the Diagnostic Net and the Report Card.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process, please do not hesitate to discuss them with your child's teacher, Mrs. Neighbour or myself.

Enjoy the holiday break with your precious child.

Take care and stay safe.

Deputy Principal

World Vision GLC PDF Print E-mail
On Monday the 2nd of June, Lucas, Brodie, Kimberley and I went to the World Vision GLC (Global Leadership Convention). This year the convention was all about child labour in India. In the first session we had to pretend to be an Indian child who had been sold to a factory to pay off the family debt.

In the second session an Australian Youth Ambassador who had recently been to India talked to us about her experiences. The last session was all about how we could start the 40 hour famine in our school.

The day was really valuable and later in the year the Student Council is going to run a 40 hour famine. The proceeds of the 40 hour famine in 2008 are going toward fighting the extreme problems caused by poverty in India.

Keep Watch on our School PDF Print E-mail
With the holidays fast approaching, we need you to look out for after-hours crime in our school.

If you see anything suspicious, please remember to call the School Watch number – 13 17 88 also on the front of the weekly newsletter.

The School Watch Program is a partnership between Education Queensland, the Queensland Police Service and the State Government Protective Security Service. It aims to reduce vandalism, theft and arson in Queensland schools.

If you do see something suspicious, please don’t attempt to intervene. Call the School Watch number and let the local police or State Government Protective Security Service deal with the matter.

Keep the number handy – 13 17 88 – and let’s work together to help create a safer school community!

If you would like to know more about the School Watch Program, please call Education Queensland's School Security Section on 07 3237 0874.
