The Early Years Support group is holding a 'fundraiser' at Corbould Park Racetrack on Sunday 31 August.

This promises to be a great day out while also raising funds for our playground.
Tickets will be $30 each which covers entry and lunch.

Why not get a group together and come along? This is a wonderful chance to contribute to the school, while having fun and making new friends.

Details will follow in the newsletters -but mark your calendars!

Music News 29/7 PDF Print E-mail
Congratulations on the outstanding success of the Kuluin Strings who performed last Sunday in the finals of the regions Musicfest.

The strings were up against some extremely stiff competition with 45 other instrumental programs from other schools taking part in this event. So it was with great pleasure that they were announced as second place.

The winning school was North Arm Marimba band; Sunshine Coast Grammar was third and Stella Maris was fourth.

Thank you to all students and parents for helping out in everyway. A special thank you to our esteemed conductor Ms. Terri Giesen who achieved an unbelievable sound from these fine musicians.
Well done Kuluin!!!!

Apart from winning a trophy and $250 from the Sunshine Plaza; Ms. Giesen had promised the children that she would do back flips and cartwheels if they came first or second. (This I will videotape!!!)

Unfortunately our two choirs were unplaced. The competition was extremely fierce but it was great to see all children try their very best.

Finally music quote of the week

“Yes; I will do back flips and cartwheels if you come first or second”

Ms Giesen before the strings played at Musicfest

The Kuluin Community Rocks PDF Print E-mail

Friday and Saturday nights saw the Haven’t Got a Kuluin cast and crew present “Café Rock” – a musical written and directed by past parent Robin Guse.  Thanks Robin!!  It was a great night of entertainment with lots of Rock’n’Roll singing and dancing and colourful costumes.  The audience was great too, with fancy dress and lots of rowdy behaviour and participation.

The best result from the show was the reinforcement of the Kuluin family.  We had members of staff, the parent group, past parents and the wider community all working together on stage with the acting and stage production, and then even more people backstage helping with the hair and make-up, catering, cleaning and prop creation. We had dozens of sponsors who contributed to raffles and products for the show to make the night memorable.

I’d like to thank everyone involved in any way for the tremendous amount of time and effort that was put into the show – all in aid of making a difference for our Kuluin Kids.  I am enormously proud (again) of the outcome as there would have been literally, 1000’s of volunteer hours put in collectively to make this a successful event.  I look forward to the next opportunity for our community to show how committed we are to our kids – together.

Thank you,

Urgent PDF Print E-mail

Thank you to the two ladies who have volunteered a couple of hours in the Tuckshop, it is much appreciated, BUT it is not enough. Things are quite desperate at the moment, especially Thursdays and Fridays. At present there is no one for this Thursday afternoon at all. If there someone out there who can fill this spot please let me know?

This is the worst it has been for volunteer help in my time running the Tuckshop, usually my cries for help seem to get answered but not this time so we have a couple of options we can do:

1. HAVE A PAID PERSON ON STANDBY FOR TIMES WHEN THERE IS NO HELP, TUCKSHOP PRICES WILL GO UP TO RECOUP WAGES

2. CLOSURE OF THE TUCKSHOP WHEN NO HELP IS AVAILABLE

Personally I would hate to put prices up as I try to keep prices to a minimum so Tuckshop is affordable for all and closure would be terrible so please if there is anybody out there who can come and help please let me know A.S.A.P. Thanks in anticipation for the rush of help I will receive.
