Dance Fever

Dancefever – Prep-Year 7 – Term 3
Dance Fever will again be held in Term 3 this year and will run for 10 weeks (Week 1 –Week 10) each Wednesday. Dancefever is a weekly dance lesson for all students and is a program that promotes students’ creative abilities as well as increasing their physical activity.
Please note: Due to Dancefever being held in the hall, P-3 Parade will be held on a Thursday for all of Term 3.
Years 4-7 children will learn a variety of dances which include Jive, Tango, Waltz, Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Samba, where they learn to dance as a “couple”. Students are also taught progressive dances where they change partners and dance with “everyone” and will also learn routines in Funk, Hip Hop and Show Dances where they dance together in a “large group”. Dancefever uses all of these styles in each lesson so that children will be kept active and motivated throughout the entire class.
For children in Prep to Year 3, Dancefever works much more on progressive dances where they concentrate on developing listening skills, co-ordination, social skills, self esteem, confidence and fitness.
Dance Fever at Kuluin is well valued and supported by the community and students. This program is used by teachers to assess students in the area of The Arts and reported on in the Semester 2 Report Card. Those children who do not participate will be supervised by a teacher and required to complete an assessment task focussed Dance.
The cost of Dancefever is $28.50 per student (10 lessons over 10 weeks at a cost of $2.85 per lesson) and must be paid by Thursday 26th June 2014).  Please return the attached permission form to your child’s class teacher by this date.
Please note that Student Resource Scheme (SRS) Participation Agreement Forms including full payment or negotiated payments MUST be returned before payment for these activities will be accepted.  Forms are available from the office or our website.
