Prep & Year 1 Easter Bonnet Parade

The annual Kuluin Prep/Year One Easter Bonnet parade and multi-draw raffle will take place beginning at 9:15am on Thursday the 2nd of April in the school hall and concluding with a shared morning tea/party in your child’s room.
There are however, two catches that come with this exciting event. Firstly the bonnets are to be made at home – don’t panic rabbit ears are fine. And secondly, we would like each family to bring a small plate of food to share (on a throw away plate) at the morning tea in their own room.  We do guarantee though that everyone will have a great time with plenty of photo opportunities, singing and eating.
The children will meet in their classrooms and will then assemble in the school hall for the parade to commence.  We ask that parents go straight to the hall after drop off so the children can be organised.
I hope everyone can share this very special Easter event with the children, as I know they are very excited and will be practising hard to entertain you.
The Early Years Support Group is also running the Easter Hamper Raffle again this year. Each family in Prep and Year One will receive five tickets to sell, however more tickets will be available in the days leading up to the parade and on the morning. Bring $1.00 and you may be lucky enough to go home with a basket of goodies. Last year there were 13 hampers to be won. Raffle tickets are to be returned to the school tuckshop money window.
To create the hampers for the multi-draw we ask that each family of Prep and Year One donate one “Easter” item. This may be an egg, a soft toy or even a book. The donation could also be a basket, cellophane or ribbon to assemble the hampers. A donation box will be available in each classroom.
The Prep and Year One Teachers would like to take this opportunity to wish all Kuluin families a happy and safe Easter break and we welcome your continued support throughout the remainder of 2014.
