Kuluin State School initiated a 'Bring Your Own Devices' (BYOD) in Year 4 classrooms in 2023. Parents were asked to purchase a laptop for their Year 4 child 2023.  The laptop should last students throughout primary y school. Our P&C has also funded a fleet of laptops in Year 5 and Year 6 classrooms in 2023 to asssit with BYOD preparation.

2023 – Year 4 classes BYOD

2024 – Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 classes BYOD

The BYOD approach is in response to preparing our students for a future society, a future society that is beyond our current realms of imagination.

Every Queensland state school is reviewed by the Department of Education every four years.

One of the key improvement strategies generated by the School Review last year at Kuluin State School indicated one of the next steps for Kuluin State School is to

  • review teacher access to digital technologies and build a school infrastructure and staff capability plan to support the integration of digital literacies within classroom curriculum units.

Long term success for our students is dependent on our ability as educators to recognise and adapt to these technological advancements. Our aim is to adequately prepare our students to become adaptive, self-directed learners that enhances their thinking skills and develops their abilities where they are capable of embracing their future.
