The Prep class caters for a guide of 25 students who are involved in structured and play based activities designed to facilitate developing their early literacy and numeracy skills in a social and communicative environment.
When can my child enrol in Prep?
Children need to turn five by 30 June in the year they start in the Prep class.

Prep enrolments
The Prep Program at Kuluin State School is a full time program. Children attend from Monday – Friday during normal school hours (8.50am to 3.00pm).
The Preparatory Year is the important first year of schooling. Children must turn five by the 30th June in the year they commence Prep.
Our Prep classrooms are noted for their child focused programs and our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We pride ourselves on the close relationship we have with parents and the wider community and we foster a genuine desire to learn through an innovative curriculum that has a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.
Prep tours
Come and join our Deputy Principal, Ms Jessica Thompson on a guided tour of our school giving your child a look at the Prep Classrooms, Prep Playground, Resource Centre, Tuckshop and the School Hall. Tours start at 9.15am. Please meet at the Office.

Prep transition days and parents sessions (for enrolled 2027 students only)
Students will get a taste of Prep whilst parents attend an information
session in the hall with the Leadership Team and experienced Prep teachers. Sessions will cover transition processes and what to expect for the first year of school.
